The marriage to a Pemberton is proven according to Newberry Co., SC, Deed Book E, p. 190: "George Pemberton, Sr. of Newberry Dist. for natural love and affection to my granddaughter, Jude Worthington, etc. Signed George Pemberton (seal) (X) 21 July 1801, Recorded 22 July 1801. Both Judith Steadman and her husband Benj. P. Worthington are buried in Oak Hill Cem., Birmingham, AL.
